Check out some upcoming hackathons!

HS Hacks III: March 25-26, 2017

Superposition: June 10-11, 2017

FemHacks is an Ideathon for girls, where they will learn to code and build projects.

The mission of FemHacks is to encourage more girls to become engaged in technology. We welcome girls with minimal or no coding experience to attend this event in order to gain introductory experience to the fields of technology and computer science. FemHacks will provide programming workshops of varying skill levels, as well as speaker panels from women working in the tech industry. The event will culminate in a team competition to create a project following the FemHacks’ theme of “breaking stereotypes.”

  • What is an Ideathon?

An Ideathon is a beginner-friendly, all day coding event, similar to a Hackathon. However, we emphasize teaching participants coding skills before they go on to build their projects.

  • What if I don't know how to code?

Don't worry, FemHacks is for beginners! We will spend the morning teaching you the necessary coding skills during our workshops.

  • Who can participate?

All high school and middle school girls are invited to come regardless of coding knowledge.

  • How are teams formed?

We encourage teams of up to 4 members. If you have a team already, that's great; if not, we will have a team forming activity.

  • What should I bring?

Please bring your laptop and charger, as well as a form of identification (student ID). Bring your signed liability form!

  • How much does it cost to attend?

Nothing! FemHacks will also provide free snacks, lunch, and goodies.
